OCD Support Group
OCD Group Therapy in Woodland Hills
Are you curious how group therapy can support your mental health journey? Are you looking for additional support that adds value to your individual therapy and/or medication management?
We've Got You Covered!
Our OCD support group is tailored exclusively for adults with OCD and related disorders, such as BFRBs and BDD. This virtual group will provide psychoeducation about OCD and its treatment, give space for participants to feel heard and supported by peers dealing with similar issues, and allow participants to socialize and build a community to help one another in beating OCD.
Support group attendees will learn how to utilize specific tools, including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), to help release the grip OCD has on them. The group’s primary goal is to assist members in building resiliency to deal with adulthood without the struggle of OCD.
How Often Does It Take Place?
This group meets every Friday from 11am to 12:15 pm and focuses on providing structured Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which researchers have consistently and repeatedly found to be the most effective treatment for OCD. By participating in group therapy, individuals with OCD can continue to work toward their goals with a strong emphasis on CBT and peer support.
Group Information
The group is run by our Program Director of OCD services, Allison Lucchese, LMFT. As a licensed therapist with years of experience, Allison’s direct yet compassionate approach helps her clients face their OCD with resilience and step out of their comfort zone using ERP tools. Together, Allison helps her clients regain their power and freedom back from OCD and its challenges.
The group is limited to a maximum of eight (8) members and requires a minimum of three (3) attendees to begin. We ask for at least a monthly commitment where the fee is collected at the beginning of the month for four (4) sessions. The fee for one session is $60.
*Please note that the online group is exclusively for residents of California and that attendance requires an online assessment prior to participation.
I'm Interested, What's Next?
We are here to help you decide if group therapy is the right path for you. We offer a free, no-pressure consultation with one of our group facilitators. Our goal is that at the end of the screening, you will be able to decide if this is the right group for you.
Assessment For Group Therapy Participation
All of our groups are exclusively for adults over the age of 18 (except our teen group, which is for ages 15-17), and all groups require an assessment prior to admission and participation. The goals of our group therapy assessment are three-fold:
- To make an accurate diagnosis.
- To explain group processes and procedures.
- To discern whether or not the individual being assessed is an appropriate candidate for participation in group therapy.
Please note that having an assessment does not guarantee admission to any group. A group assessment allows us to ascertain if there is any reason that we believe a prospective group member would not be a good fit for participation in one of our groups. We reserve the right to restrict and limit participation in all therapy groups that we offer.
To get started, please contact us, and our admin team will set up your free consultation with one of the group facilitators.
