“I have a good life. But I feel like there’s something missing”
Does this sound like you? Does it resonate with you?
When you look at your life today, things are looking stagnant and unfulfilled. You enjoy having a full life; but lately, you have been feeling burdened by all the expectations and responsibilities.
The fact is when you are always striving to do your best, it can get overwhelming. On one hand, you want to feel empowered and in charge of your life; but when it comes to taking control or making decisions, you feel stuck and out of control.
Maybe you are a young adult who is currently experiencing college anxiety. Maybe you are a parent who is struggling to keep up with life’s demands and looking for a therapist to help you find a balance in your life. Maybe you identify as non-binary who are ready to live authentically as Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual+. No matter the life stage you are in, feeling confused about where you are and where you want to go is a common problem to face. clients, including children, adolescents, adults, and couples. Her areas of focus are anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief, and relational issues. Ani utilizes an integrative approach to suit the needs of her clients, including cognitive-behavioral, family systems, psychodynamic, existential, narrative, and feminist theoretical orientations. Ani is working towards licensure and is supervised by Dr. Menije.
What you are going through right now does not have to mean you are powerless.
You are completely capable of taking back control of your life!
I am here to tell you that you can sort things out and have a life that feels authentic and inspiring.
When you decide to work with me, here at Embracing You Therapy, we will work on your anxiety, stress, and the challenges that come from the life transitions. You are someone who is self-aware but you are currently feeling lost and looking for a therapist to help process your feelings.
HI, I’M ANI SEFERYAN
I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. I am here to tell you that you can regain a sense of control over your life and create the one you are meant to live. It takes courage to explore areas of your life that may seem imperfect or tangled. In therapy, our goal is to untangle all the knots so that you can navigate life with more ease, courage, and clarity. The goal is never “perfection,” but feeling more empowered to make changes and gain inner acceptance so the self you show to the world matches the unique individual within.
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles, and my Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis on Marriage and Family Therapy at Pepperdine University.
I utilize the therapeutic modalities of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Feminist Therapy, Psychodynamic, and mindfulness-based techniques. I find that these modalities are the most effective in breaking down and restructuring belief systems, challenging behaviors, creating safety, and nurturing self-connection. I work with both individual adults and couples.
As a first-generation Armenian-American, I have felt the influence of my culture while exploring personal identity, values, expectations, and an understanding of relationships. Therefore, I provide a therapeutic space in which we can explore how your personal experience in your cultural upbringing may be impacting your understanding of your sense of self, your intimate relationships, and decisions relating to personal goals.
More about therapy
Therapy with me is all about empowerment! Let’s work together to find ways you can break through barriers. As a woman, I recognize we face a unique set of challenges. While we are capable, responsible, and attentive members of our family and community at large, women are still fighting to be heard, understood, and granted equal opportunities. It’s not only in society that we are faced with these battles, but in our relationships with our families, friends, and romantic partners.
One of our goals in therapy is to collaboratively rebuild your true sense of self where you can make decisions for yourself instead of conforming to what others may expect of you. What that means is that you will learn to identify patterns of behavior that aren’t serving your needs, communicate your needs more effectively, and set your boundaries unapologetically. Or maybe you are someone who considers themself as highly self-aware, but are currently feeling lost and looking for a therapist to help process your feelings. No matter the life stage you are in, feeling confused about where you are and where you want to go is more common than you think.
I am also passionate about working with couples on issues related to communication and maintaining connection and intimacy. Working to improve our relationships with our significant others in couples therapy is a commitment to seeing the world through our partner’s eyes and working towards solutions with compassion, trust, and understanding. A couple’s relationship is meant to change and grow as the individuals change and grow. As your relationship faces issues like the addition of children, financial struggles, taking care of aging parents, infidelity, etc., the relationship can’t stay the same. Instead of wondering whether something is wrong with your relationship or fearing that you might have chosen the wrong partner, let’s start couple’s therapy where we can create a path that brings you two back to each other. The therapy goals will focus on identifying each other’s emotional needs and learning how to respond more effectively and kindly.
Where and when can I schedule my first session?
My office is conveniently located at 21031 Ventura Blvd, Suite 316, Woodland Hills CA 91364. I also offer teletherapy to residents of California.
I also serve Calabasas, Agoura Hills, Tarzana, Encino, and the surrounding communities.
What does therapy for individual or couple sessions cost?
Therapy for individuals or couples is a fee-for-service program, and I accept all major forms of payment. Please visit the Payment and Insurance tab under Getting Started for my session fees.
Due to my desire to make sure you maintain maximum privacy and wanting to provide you with the highest level of care possible without constraints from managed care, I am an out-of-network provider for all insurance panels; therefore, I am not affiliated with any insurance panel. Many PPO plans may reimburse in full or in part for my services. Unfortunately, HMO, Medi-Cal, and Medicare insurances do not reimburse as they require that you see someone on their panel.
